The superabsorbent choice: Medline Maxorb Extra CMC Alginate Wound Dressing
Handles heavy drainage by absorbing up to 20X its weight

Naturally absorbent primary dressings made from seaweed and CMC fibers

More than just bandages, Medline Maxorb Extra Wound Dressings are innovative primary dressings that combine all-natural calcium alginate (seaweed spun fibers) with nonwoven carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) to provide superior absorption of wound fluids. Fluid absorbed by the fibers then turns into a gel that helps keep the wound moist, creating an optimal healing environment. It’s this unique dual benefit that makes Maxorb Extra Wound Dressings a trusted choice in hospitals, and a class apart from common drugstore bandages.

  • High fluid handling for moderate to heavily draining wounds
  • Wicks fluid vertically away from the wound to help prevent skin breakdown
  • Easy to apply – simply lay dressing directly on top of wound
  • Easy and painless to remove – strong when wet, so dressing won’t fall apart

Not for use on dry wounds or wounds that are heavily bleeding.

For even more absorbency plus softness, upgrade to premium Medline Maxorb II Alginate Wound Dressings.

A closer look at: Maxorb Extra CMC Alginate Wound Dressings

Available in sheets and rope that can be cut to create a custom size, conformable Maxorb Extra CMC Alginate Wound Dressings are designed to come into direct contact with the wound. They can remain in place for 7 days or until the dressing is saturated. Because the dressing has no adhesive to hold it in place, it should always be paired with a secondary dressing.
