Medline Freedom Plus Bariatric Transport Chair

Weighing only 22 lbs., yet strong enough to support up to 400 lbs., Medline’s Freedom Plus Bariatric Transport Chair is an ideal companion on outings with a caregiver or with loved ones. Its collapsible frame with integrated handles makes it easy to fold, lift and pack in the car, while specially designed features ensure the comfortable ride you want and the accessibility you need.

Wider seat

This bariatric chair features a 22″ seat, which is 2″ to 4″ wider than average transport chair seats. The extra room makes for a more comfortable, relaxed ride. The lightweight yet durable frame supports users weighing up to 400 lb.

Collapsible design

The Freedom Plus Transport Chair’s X-shaped frame is collapsible for easy storage and transport. The vinyl seat folds in half and features soft, built-in handles to make the chair easy to lift and carry.

Elevating leg rests

Adjustable leg rests with calf-support cushions can be elevated to a desired height for greater comfort and to help improve circulation to the legs and feet.

Swing-away foot and leg rests

The height-adjustable footrests easily swing out of the way while users get in and out of the chair, making transfers smoother for users and caregivers alike.

Push-down hand brakes

Keep the chair safely in place while sitting still or during transfers with loop-style hand brakes you simply push down to lock, and pull up to release.

More features you’ll love:

Full-length armrests

Permanent, full-length armrests provide sturdy arm support for greater comfort.

Built-in seat belt

A built-in lap seat belt helps prevent sliding and keeps you securely seated.

Push bar

An optional padded push bar attaches to the handles to distribute force and make pushing the chair easier.

Clip-on cup holder

Simply clip the included cup holder to the front of an armrest for easy drink access on the go.

What’s the difference between a transport chair and a wheelchair?

  • Medline’s transport chairs are specifically designed to be pushed by a caregiver or another person. While standard wheelchairs can be operated independently by the user, the transport chair’s smaller wheels do not allow for the user to propel themselves. This feature makes transport chairs ideal for pushing people with limited hand and arm strength or coordination.
  • If you’re looking for a lightweight, user-propelled wheelchair, consider our K4 Lightweight Wheelchair.
