![]() With the mesh facing the wound, position so the incision is central to the mesh (without making contact), ensuring that at least 1 cm of mesh extends from each end of the incision |
![]() Press gently to ensure intimate contact of the mesh to one side of the incision |
![]() Gently pull the mesh perpendicularly over the incision while adjusting with fingers or forceps to achieve skin edge approximation and affix the remainder of the mesh to the other side of the incision |
![]() Pat the clear release liner down so that the mesh has fully adhered to the skin |
![]() Remove the clear release liner by maintaining pressure on the clear release liner whilst pulling the release tab from the mesh in the opposing direction |
![]() Tear the clear release liner and remove in a circular direction |
![]() For incisions longer than 20 cm, repeat steps 5-11; for the continuation of skin edge approximation, overlap the end of the existing mesh by approximately 1 cm |
![]() Activate the liquid adhesive applicator by holding the applicator with finger and thumb by the wings with the tip pointed upwards and away from the patient; squeeze the applicator wings to apply sufficient pressure to fully crush the inner glass ampoule |
![]() Invert the applicator and firmly squeeze the wings to express the liquid adhesive and IMMEDIATELY apply to the mesh |
![]() Spread the liquid adhesive smoothly and evenly over the entire length of the mesh using the foam tip, making sure that the entire mesh is covered; the liquid adhesive should also be applied slightly over the edge of the mesh, covering a small margin of surrounding skin |
